Science and Technology of Advanced Materials Journal (Open Access)

Science and Technology of Advanced Materials (STAM) journal is published by the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) in partnership with IOP Publishing.

STAM provides an international forum for refereed original contributions, reviews and focus issues covering all aspects of materials science, including theoretical analysis, synthesis and processing, phase and structure analyses, characterization, properties, engineering and applications. The journal covers advances in research on solids, liquids and colloids, with emphasis on the interdisciplinary nature of materials science and issues at the forefront of the field, such as nano-, bio- and ecomaterials.

STAM is sponsored by NIMS and is a web-based, open-access source of the latest information on international developments in materials science. The contents are free to read, there is an 'author friendly' copyright policy, and there are no publication charges. By employing this publication model, NIMS hopes to contribute to the research activities of materials scientists worldwide.

What is Drug Discovery Today E-choice
In January 2006, the Drug Discovery Today e-newsletter E-choice was launched with the aim of providing free content to everyone interested in drug discovery. The e-newsletter is issued monthly and each issue is dedicated to a particular topic of interest, introduced by an external editor and illustrated with three recent reviews selected from Drug Discovery Today or the Drug Discovery Today online journals. These reviews are freely accessible to everyone who has subscribed to the e-newsletter. In addition, ten original research papers from across all publications will be highlighted and abstracts of these will be provided.

Articles published under the Oxford Open model are made freely available online immediately upon publication, as part of a long-term archive, without subscription barriers to access. The publisher has chosen to implement the Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial license for articles published under the Oxford Open model. This policy means that users have unrestricted rights to re-use Open Access content for educational and research purposes but not for commercial purposes.

SELF ARCHIVING
Authors who choose to participate in the Oxford Open initiative and pay to have their paper freely available online are also entitled to deposit a post-print* of their accepted manuscript and/or the finally published version of the article into an institutional or centrally organized subject repository, immediately upon publication. This is provided that they include a link to the published version of the article on the journal's web site, and that the journal and OUP are attributed as the original place of publication, with correct citations given.
